Injury accident on I-24

At 8:30 AM Deputies were dispatched to a single vehicle injury collision on Interstate 24 just east of exit 16. Upon our arrival, we found a 2004 Chevrolet Trailblazer that had overturned and landed upright. The truck was badly damaged and the doors would not open. The Jaws of Life were used to gain entry to the vehicle.

The operator of the vehicle is 57 year old Roger D. Morrow from Kuttawa KY. Mr. Morrow states that while traveling east bound in the left lane he was overtaking another truck. That truck came into the left lane as Morrow got beside it. To avoid a collision with the other truck, Morrow swerved to the left getting partially into the median. Then as he attempted to get back on the roadway he lost control of the truck, crossed both east bound traffic lanes before overturning in the ditch. Mr. Morrow has minor injuries to his face and legs but refused medical treatment. His wife, 55 year old Bonita G Morrow, was the passenger in the truck. She was transported to Western Baptist E.R. for complaints of pain in her chest and abdomen. Both  were wearing their seatbelts at the time of the collision.

The McCracken Sheriffs Department was assisted on scene by the Reidland Farley Fire Department, and Mercy Regional Ambulance service.
