Over $43,000 Raised During Big Brown Truck Pull

PADUCAH, KY - The inaugural Big Brown Truck pull held Saturday evening in downtown Paducah raised over $43,000 for the Special Olympics.

More than 30 teams of 15 people tried their luck at pulling the UPS semi 12 feet.

Dave Kerchner with the Special Olympics, told the Paducah Sun the money will help with costs at the local level, such as uniforms and fees, and costs at the state level, when athletes travel to compete. About 6,000 children and adults with intellectual disabilities across the state participate in 16 sports.

Officials say the Fed-Ex "Purple Power" team raised the most money for the event with $4,000.
