McCracken Co. Sheriff's Deputy Cory Golightly received the Governors Award this week (Wednesday) in Lexington at the Governors Impaired Driving Enforcement Awards Ceremony.

Dep. Golightly and many other law enforcement officers from across the state received the award for their work in keeping our Kentucky roads safe from impaired drivers.

 

High Visibility Enforcement (HVE) of Kentucky's traffic laws will continue to make a difference and will see many more lives saved. From Thanksgiving through Christmas and New Years there are many highway deaths and injuries in Kentucky.

 

The "Drunk Driving-Over the Limit-Under Arrest" campaign will begin on December 16, 2009 and end on January 02, 2010. The McCracken County Sheriff's Department will be participating in this state-wide campaign.
