McCracken County has received a $40,000 grant from the Kentucky Office of Homeland Security to buy computers for vehicles that the sheriff’s and coroner’s offices use.
The computers will allow officers to send and receive information while on patrol or conducting investigations.
The funds also will be used to buy radio equipment that will be issued to Mercy Regional Emergency Medical Services for its mobile command post.
The state agency will operate a satellite office in McCracken County’s emergency services headquarters that will open in the National Guard building on Clark Street. The office will be staffed two or three days a week.
