Re: Bomb Threat / Drug Arrest at Reidland High School

On Thursday (April 26, 2007) at 12:07PM, McCracken Sheriff's Deputies and other emergency personell were called to Reidland High School by school staff. Staff

had located on a stall in one of the mens bathrooms a note stating that there was a bomb in the school. As a precaution, all students in both the High School and

Middle School were evacuated.

A McCracken County Sheriff's Department Bomb Dog searched the school, assisted by school staff, and other sheriff's deputies. Nothing suspicious in nature

was located. The school resumed their normal activities at about 1:15PM.

The incident remains under investigation.

While conducting the above investigation at the school, information was received that a student that had driven to school that morning had drugs in their car,

which was parked on the school parking lot.

Sheriff's Department drug dogs indicated to the presence of illegal drugs inside the car. Deputies upon searching the car found approx 10 grams of marijuana

inside the vehicle as well as a Marijuana-smoking pipe. After the student was brought outside to the parking lot, sheriff' deputies located Marijuana in the 17 year

old's pants pocket.

The student was charged with Possession of Marijuana and Possession of Drug Paraphernalia and released to a parent.
