On this date at approximately 9:00PM, McCracken Sheriff's Deputies received a tip that wanted man (on charges from the U.S. Marshals) was on the parking lot of
Home Depot driving a black Dodge pickup pulling a trailer. As Dep. Jason Walters attempted to stop the man, he fled in this vehicle. The wanted man took Holt
Road to Blandville Road, westbound on Blandville Road onto KY 286 and into Ballard County. McCracken Sheriff's deputies were then assisted in the pursuit by
Ballard Co. Sheriff's Department. The pursuit went into Wickliffe and onto Ky Hwy 121. The suspect took Hwy 121 towards Mayfield. Just before reaching the city
limits of Mayfield (in Graves County), spike strips were utilized by the Kentucky State Police which ended the pursuit on Ky Hwy 121 that lasted 40 minutes.
The federal fugitive wanted on
Methamphetamine trafficking charges was charged with: Speeding 100mph in a 55
zone, Two (2) counts of disregarding stop signs,
Fleeing or Evading 1st Degree, Wanton Endangerment 1st Degree Two (2) Counts, and Criminal Possession of a Forged Instrument 2nd Degree.
Arrested: Carter, Robert L. 49 yoa No address but been living in McCracken Co.
"This suspect has been the target of numerous drug investigations in our county over the past several years. He has been responsible for bringing large quantities
of crystal Methamphetamine into our county."
The above listed charges were filed for offenses that occurred in McCracken County. Refer to the Kentucky State Police Post 1 for additional charges.
