Re:         Arrest of a McCracken County Deputy Jailer for Assault and Official Misconduct

On 05/10/2007 the McCracken County Sheriff's Department received a complaint from McCracken County Jailer Bill Adams of an assault that occurred on an inmate by a McCracken County Deputy Jailer.  After the investigation was completed it was determined that McCracken County Deputy Jailer Mathew Fletcher assaulted an inmate, who was unresponsive due to a medical condition, by kicking him in the chest causing injury to the inmate.   The official misconduct was charged to Mathew Fletcher due to the fact that he is a public servant of McCracken County and this incident occurred while he was on duty.

He was booked into McCracken County Regional Jail and bonded a short time later.
