Re: Farley man charged with weapon and drug charges

On the afternoon of July 11, 2007 McCracken County Sheriff Department Drug Detectives went to 1619 Meacham Lane to investigate reports of suspected illegal drug activity to be occurring there.

Upon detectives arrival they were welcomed inside by who was later identified as being Richard A. Tapp Jr. Upon entering the residence detectives immediately noted a strong smell of Marijuana that had recently been burnt/smoked inside the residence.

Detectives questioned the residence about the odor of Marijuana inside the residence and learned that Marijuana had been smoked at the residence just prior to detectives arrival.

Detectives obtained and executed a search warrant at the residence at 7:13 p.m. on 7-11-07. A search of the residence revealed a quantity of Marijuana, numerous firearms and several articles of drug paraphernalia inside the home. Detectives also determined that one of the residence (Richard Tapp Jr.) was a convicted felon out of Tennessee.

Both individuals that resided at this location were arrested and transported to the McCracken County Regional Jail.
