On 11/30/06 Jeffery Q. Liles was involved in an automobile accident on HWY. 286, between North Hayden Road and Bohanon Road located in the Western part of McCracken County. The accident involved three vehicles. Liles was driving a 1994 Saturn, his vehicle struck a 1998 Mercedes in the rearend, driven by Harrietta Harper (62 years old at time of accident) of Kevil, KY. Both Liles and Harper were going East on Hwy. 286.The Harper vehicle was knocked into the path of Ronald T. Dockery ( 71 years old at time of accident) he was going West on HWY. 286. Dockery was driving a 1983 Dodge truck. Deputy Jeremy Partin responded to the wreck. Upon Deputy Partins arrival, Liles had already left the scene on foot, being picked up at some point by an unknown subject driving a truck. Attempts to locate that subject have proven futile. Mrs. Harper was taken to Lourdes Hospital with serious physical injuries. Mr. Dockery was taken to Lourdes Hospital where he died a few hours later. Liles was not injured and turned himself into the McCracken County Sheriff's Department some thirty hours later with his attorney. During the course of the investigation, cocaine and drug paraphernalia were located in Liles vehicle. Liles did report his vehicle had been stolen. The following are the charges that were able to be presented to the Grand Jury and Liles was indicted for: 1st Degree Possession of CS/ Cocaine, 2nd Offense, Use/Possess Drug Paraphernalia, 2nd Offense, Leaving Scene of Accident/Failure to Render Aid or Assist and Falsely Reporting an Incident. Liles was placed under arrest on 09/24/07 and taken to the McCracken County Regional Jail, his bond is $16,500.
