Re: Injury Accident
The Sheriff's Department responded to a injury accident at the intersection of U.S. 60 and McGruder Rd. at 12:36 P.M. today. Upon arrival Deputies found that an East bound Chevrolet Cavalier driven by 33 year old Joey A. Seaton of Kevil, KY had struck another passenger car that pulled into his path as it was attempting to cross Highway 60. The driver of the 2003 Dodge Stratus, James M. Stowe, 53, also of Kevil stated that he was South bound on McGruder Rd. prior to the accident . He stated that he stopped at the stop sign at the intersection of U.S. 60. When the West bound traffic cleared he pulled into the median and stopped to wait for the East bound traffic to clear. After several cars passed he thought that it was clear to cross. When he pulled out, he pulled in front of Mr. Seatons vehicle. Mr. Stowe and his passengers were not injured in the accident. Mr. Seaton was treated at Western Baptist Hospital for apparent minor injuries to his arms. One of the passengers in Mr. Stowe's vehicle fled the scene prior to Deputies arrival. After running a warrant check on the name provided by Mr. Stowe, Deputies learned that there is an active bench warrant that matched the name given. Deputies attempted to locate the subject at his residence that was approximately a half mile away from the accident scene, but were not successful.
