Re: motor vehicle accidents with minor injuries

The McCracken County Sheriff's Office is investigating two separate accidents involving McCracken County school buses.

At 0750 hours, Johnie Collier, age 34 of Paducah was traveling east on Lovelaceville Road, 6 miles west of Lone Oak, in a McCracken County school bus with 13 children on it when he met a Bell's Wrecker Service flatbed wrecker traveling west. The wrecker was being driven by Jeremy Beachel, age 23 of Paducah. As they passed, the left side mirror on the bus and the left side mirror on the wrecker hit. Impact pushed the mirror on the bus into the driver's side window shattering it. Collier was dazed by the impact ,but refused medical treatment. No children were injured. Beachel suffered a cut on his nose , but also refused medical treatment. The accident was investigated by Deputy Malcolm Couch

At 0812 hrs. another McCracken County School bus was involved in a minor injury accident on John Puryear Highway one half mile south of Paducah. Kristie Dick, age 35 of Paducah was driving a McCracken County school bus that had no children on it east on Hovecamp when she came to the intersection of John Puryear Highway. She told Deputy Eric Augustus another vehicle was turning onto Hovecamp and she started across Puryear. She did not see a 1993 Ford Probe that was driven by Luis Orduna, age 38 of Paducah that was traveling south on John Puryear and pulled into his path. The Probe struck the school bus in the left rear corner. Orduna was transported to Western Baptist Hospital by Mercy Regional EMS where he was treated for abrasions and released. Orduna was cited for not having proof of insurance. Kristie Dick was not injured.
