Re: Paducah man arrested on cocaine trafficking and possession charges

Thursday afternoon McCracken County Sheriff's Drug Detectives were conducting an undercover drug operation in the area of 2819 Jackson Street. Detectives were conducting surveillance in unmarked vehicles after receiving information that drug transactions were taking place in this area.

Shortly after 17:00 detectives observed a 2001 Chevrolet Blazer driven by Cedric Alford of Fountain Avenue pull into the car wash. Detectives also noted a passenger in the vehicle who was later identified as being Terrance Wilson of Martin Luther King Drive. The passenger (Mr. Wilson) exited the vehicle and approached another individual that was sitting in a parked vehicle. After a short time detectives believed that illegal activity was taking place and approached the individuals.

Mr. Wilson was found to be in possession of Cocaine and Marijuana. A search of the vehicle revealed Marijuana and items of drug paraphernalia.

The driver of the vehicle, Mr. Alsord, was operating the vehicle on a DUI (Driving Under The Influence) suspended license. Both the driver and the passenger of the Chevy Blazer were interviewed along with the individual that they were meeting.

"It was determined based on the interviews that a Cocaine sell was interrupted by detectives. Confessions were obtained during the interviews and ongoing investigations will ensue as a result of information. " Det. Sgt. Matt Carter

Phone calls were made to one of the suspects phone after the arrest requesting drugs to be brought to them by individuals that obviously were unaware that the individual had been arrested.

Both individuals was arrested and transported to the McCracken County Regional Jail.

ARRESTED: Alford, Cedric O. 42 years of age
