Re: Injury Accident on Berger Road

At 11:00 this morning the Sheriff's Department responded to and injury accident at the intersection of Berger Rd. and Wellington Circle.

When Deputies arrived they found a severely damaged 2000 Chevrolet Blazer in the yard of 101 Wellington Circle. Examination of the scene revealed that the SUV was West bound on Berger Rd. when it dropped off the right side of the roadway. The driver then overcorrected and ran off the left side of the road where it struck a culvert at the intersection of Wellington Circle. This caused the vehicle to become air borne and roll. The vehicle landed on it's top and then rolled onto it's wheels in the yard .

The driver of the SUV, 49 year old Cindy T. Tucker, of Boaz was treated for mulitple injuries at Lourdes Hospital. She stated that when she topped a hill she noticed a male subject in the ditch and that he was walking toward the roadway. She swerved to avoid hitting him.

The passenger, 85 year old Joe Thomasson Jr. also of Boaz was treated at Lourdes for multiple injuries to his body. Both occupants of the vehicle were wearing seatbelts at the time of the accident. *END*
