Re: Traffic stop leads to drug arrest

On 01-17-08 at approximately 18:24hrs Deputy Steve Croft conducted a traffic stop on a 2003 Jeep Wrangler for moving violations at 3200 Irvin Cobb Drive in Paducah. Upon making contact with the driver (Keith Peek), Deputy Croft detected a strong odor of burnt marijuana coming from the vehicle. During the stop Peek admitted that someone had smoked marijuana in the Jeep earlier during that day. A search of the vehicle revealed approximately 95 grams of processed marijuana in several different baggies, digital scales, hemostats, doses of Lortab, doses of Xanax, and an undisclosed amount of U.S. currency. Peek was arrested and transported to the McCracken County Regional Jail.

Pending Charges: Failure to signal, careless driving, trafficking in marijuana under eight ounces, possession of marijuana, possession of drug paraphernalia, possession of a 2nd degree controlled substance-Lortab, possession of a controlled substance 3rd degree-Xanax, and prescription controlled not in a proper container.
