Re: Paducah Couple Arrested On Drug Charges.
An investigation by the McCracken County Sheriff Department Drug Division lead to the execution of a search warrant at 6330 Old Mayfield Road on January 25, 2008 at 9:45 p.m.
Upon entering the residence detectives located 2 juvenile children, Andrea Coneal, and Cornealus Brown inside the home. Mr. Brown was located in a back bedroom closet along with a strong odor of burnt Marijuana. A further search of the closet revealed a loaded 9mm semi automatic Desert Eagle handgun, additional ammunition Marijuana, and numerous baggies.
Detectives also recovered over 40 grams of both Crack and powdered Cocaine (street value in excess of $4000.00), two sets of digital scales, baggies, baking soda (used to turn the powder Cocaine in to Crack Cocaine), police scanner, over $2000.00 in US currency, along with other related items. All drugs were located in locations that were within easy reach of the juvenile children that also resided at the residence. Some of the drugs were located in plain view inside the home.
Cornealus Brown, a convicted felon with three past convictions for Trafficking In Cocaine was out on felony parole from Tennessee for Trafficking In Cocaine.
Brown admitted to detectives that he had been selling Cocaine for the past year since he was released from prison. If convicted Brown could face a minimum of 20 years to a maximum of life in prison.
Family members were contacted to care for the juveniles and both adults were arrested and transported to the McCracken County Regional Jail. The Kentucky Cabinet For Families And Children were contacted and responded to the residence.
The Lone Oak Police Department assisted with the execution of the search warrant.
