Re:Cairo Road Accident

Traffic was reduced to one lane on Cairo Road near Gayle Lane this afternoon due to a 2 vehicle accident. 25 year old Lindsey Jackson, of Kevil, told officers she was traveling westbound and thought the roadway was clear, she attempted to make a left hand turn into a driveway and was struck on the passenger side. A passenger in the car 3 year old Anthony Jackson was transported by ambulance to Western Baptist Hospital for minor injuries. The other driver 18 year old Casandra Evrard, of Paducah, said she was traveling eastbound towards town when Ms. Jacksons vehicle turned in front of her at the last minute, She said she applied her brakes but was unable to stop due to wet roads. Ms. Evrard was also transported to Western Baptist with minor injuries. Both vehicles had to be towed from the scene. Ms. Jackson was cited for operating a motor vehicle on a suspended drivers. No other charges are pending.
