Re: Western McCracken County Scam
Two white males in a red Ford Escort are apparently running a scam operation targeting older residents in the Western McCracken County areas of Hobbs Road, Bradford Road, Old Highway 60 and possibly on into Ballard County.
The unknown men are knocking on doors and telling the residents several different stories. One time they will say $20 is needed for tire repair on a vehicle that has a flat. The next time it might be $25 for gas or some other vehicle need. They always tell the resident they will be back in a few hours to repay the money. They don't come back. The Sheriff's Office was advised today the same two men are now telling residents they need money for a relative that is in the hospital and does not have any insurance.
The Sheriff's Office strongly urges all County residents to be on guard against this type of scam. Report suspicious activity and never allow a stranger that asks for money into the home.
