Re: Breaking and Entering into a residence (by a DEER)
----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
This morning, McCracken Sheriff's Deputies responded to a call of a reported burglary of a residence. At about 10:19AM this morning, sheriff's deputies responded to a Lone Oak apartment complex (3219 Delaware). The resident there reported that she had layed down about 7:00AM this morning and awoke about 10:00AM to find her livingroom window broken out. Sheriff's deputies after arriving, noticed that there was blood and broken glass behind the victims couch. Deputies located the blood trail that led across the parking to a window to another apartment complex. That window was not broken out like the other window was, however the screen was damaged and had blood on it as well.
The deputies continued following the blood trail from the asphalt to a grassy area where there was still some snow left. At that point, Deputy David Shepherd got the evidence he needed to identify the burglary suspect, his footprints and they belonged to a deer.
Soon after locating the deer tracks, Dep. Shepherd spoke to another resident that reported seeing a deer this morning at the apartment complex acting disoriented. Deer hair was also located in the window.
It appears that the deer jumped through the window of the first apartment and attempted to go through a second. The deer has not been located.
"The victim in this case was glad to find out that the burglar was four-legged instead of two."
