A Paducah man is behind bars after
he attempted to elude Sheriff's Deputies early this morning. At
approximately 01:30 AM, Sean Patterson, 34, of Paducah, was clocked by deputy
Ray Smith traveling 71mph in a 55mph speed zone. Deputy Smith attempted
to conduct a traffic stop on Patterson's 2006 Chevy Trailblazer and that's
when Patterson took off. Patterson was fleeing eastbound on US 62 just
prior to the US 62 and KY 131 "Y" when Patterson
lost control of his vehicle while trying to turn into a driveway.
Patterson's vehicle struck a tree and a guardrail. Patterson was not
injured and was apprehended without incident. A large quantity of
alcohol was located in the vehicle. Patterson was lodged in the
McCracken Regional Jail with charges of Speeding, DUI, and Fleeing/Evading
Police. US 62 was closed for about half an hour while workers cleared the
