RE: Fatal Collision on Kentucky Dam Road

The McCracken County Sheriff's Department received notification of a vehicle accident that had occurred near Kentucky Dam Road (US 62) and Park Road shortly after 11pm Wednesday night in the Reidland area.  Upon arrival, deputies observed a white 1997 Dodge Ram that was overturned.  During the preliminary investigation, deputies determined that the vehicle was east bound on Kentucky Dam Road when it ran off the roadway, crossed all four lanes of traffic,  and landed upside down.  The occupant of the vehicle, Roger D. Darnall, 32, of Paducah, was pronounced dead at the scene by Deputy Coroner Ben Bradford.  Officers were assisted on scene by the Reidland-Farley Fire Department and the Mercy Regional Ambulance Service.  The cause of the crash is under investigation.

Traffic was restricted on US 62 for approximately two hours while the investigation was conducted.
