Theft of Identity
On 3/14/08, Jeffrey L. Treon was stopped at Hwy. 1241 by State Troopers for the offense of DUI. The officer asked Mr. Treon for identification and Mr. Treon stated he did not have any ID with him. Mr. Treon gave the identity of Dewayne M. Taylor of Bonnotsmill, MO. He also gave Dewayne M. Taylor's date of birth and social security number. The identity was run through a computer database and the information obtained was valid information. Mr. Taylor had no prior history but Mr. Treon does have a prior history and he is a convicted felon for several DUI's from Missouri. On March 17, 2008, the "real" Mr. Taylor came to the McCracken Co. Sheriff's Dept. and made a complaint that Jeffrey L. Treon had used his identity on an arrest that was made on Mr. Treon. Mr. Taylor and Mr. Treon are former brother-in-laws and both are from Missouri. Through investigation I was able to make a location on Mr. Treon at 1140 Throgmartin Dr. This officer was able to obtain an arrest warrant for Theft of Identity which is a Class D felony and punishable of 1-5 years. Additional charges include Forgery 2nd, which is also a Class D felony. Mr. Treon was arrested at 3:00 PM at 1140 Throgmartin Dr. and was taken to the MCSO for an interview. In the interview Mr. Treon confessed to using Mr. Taylor's identity because he said his license were suspended and he was on probation out of Missouri and could not afford another DUI charge. Mr. Treon has a $2,500 Cash Bond. Jeffrey L. Treon's date of birth is 12/9/69.
