03/24/08, SEVERAL McCracken County residents have received telephone messages from a digital voice recording claiming to be from the Paducah Federal Credit Union. The recording is advising residents that their bank account has been suspended and that they need to call a number to re-activate their account. When the number is called, the recording asks the individual to enter their 16 digit account number. The Paducah Federal Credit Union has advised that this is a scam. The number appears to originate from Miami, Florida. Area residents are asked to avoid calling this number. Anyone who has already called this number and entered their account numbers are asked to contact their bank and local law enforcement.
