An injury accident involving two vehicles occurred at approx 0730 hrs on the Brooport Bridge, resulting in all traffic on the bridge being block for approx. 1 1/2 hours.

A vehicle driven by 66 year old Nora Torian of Brookport, IL. sideswiped the bridge guard rails and then collided with a vehicle driven by 46 year old Joseph Ashford of Dawson Springs, KY.

Mrs. Torian went to Baptist ER for treatment of possible injuries.

Mr. Ashford was not injured.

The primary reason for the lengthy delay was the collision occurred in the center of the bridge and the narrow roadway made it difficult for wrecker crews to remove the vehicles.
