Injury Accident Leads to Arrest of Paducah Woman
At 11:23 P.M. the Sheriff's Department responded to an injury accident in the 8000 block of Old Mayfield Rd. Prior to Deputies arriving on scene they were notified that there were three vehicles involved and that one of the drivers had fled on foot.
When Deputies arrived they found that a North bound Pontiac Firebird had crossed the center line and collided with two South bound passenger cars. The driver of the Firebird left the accident scene on foot towards Michael Drive. A search of the vehicle led Deputies to an address on Michael Drive where the owner informed them that the vehicle was taken without permission. He suspected that 22 year old Olivia Dike had taken the car due to the fact that both were missing from his house. Deputies also learned that Miss Dike was intoxicated prior to leaving the house.
The driver of the second vehicle involved, 67 year old Shelby W. Walker of Boaz, KY was treated for apparent minor injuries at Lourdes Hospital. The driver of the third vehicle, Cheryl L. Pressler also of Boaz received treatment for apparent minor injuries at Western Baptist Hospital. Her passenger, 20 year old Casey Rae was not injured as a result of the accident.
After clearing the scene Deputies remained in the area and located Miss Dike walking on Old Mayfield Road. She was arrested by Deputy Tom Crabtree for operating a motor vehicle under the influence 2nd offense, driving on a suspended license, leaving the scene of an accident and unauthorized use of a motor vehicle. Miss Dike was also served with an outstanding Bench Warrant from the McCracken County District Court.
