Suspect's in July 2007 Lone Oak Bank Robbery Indicted by a McCracken County Grand Jury Today
On July 07, 2007 just after 1:00PM, The First National Bank in Lone Oak was robbed by two men wearing masks. Bank Tellers reported the men were armed with handguns. McCracken Sheriff's Detectives and FBI Agents responded to investigate.
As the investigation continued, detectives learned of two men that had been stopped by Owensboro Kentucky Police on October 10th 2007 after throwing trash out of their vehicle as they were driving by the Owensboro Police Department. A search of the men's vehicle revealed various masks, pantyhose (often times used as masks, police scanners, documents and maps, as well as firearms.) During subsequent interviews and investigation, the two male occupants of this vehicle were directly linked to the Lone Oak Bank Robbery. Immediately after the bank robbery, the two men fled to Evansville Indiana according to the investigation.
Today a McCracken County Grand Jury Indicted these two men on Bank Robbery charges. The two suspects are currently in custody in Jackson County Illinois. Both men are from the Evansville Indiana area. They are father and son.
