Re: Missed court date leads to five arrests
On 06-04-2008 McCracken County Sheriff's detectives and deputies arrested and charged five individuals with drug charges. The arrests were the result of a misdemeanor arrest warrant for Jeffrey A. Slaughter. Detectives located Slaughter at his residence at 5220 Hendron Road in Paducah and placed him under arrest on a McCracken County bench warrant for failing to appear for a court date on 04-15-08. While inside the residence detectives smelled the odor of burnt marijuana and saw small amounts of marijuana inside the residence. A search warrant was obtained by Sheriff's detectives to search the residence for illegal contraband. Detectives located four other individuals inside the residence, one of which was also wanted on a McCracken County bench warrant for criminal littering. A search of the residence lead to detectives to seize several plastic baggies containing marijuana, finger and digital scales (used for weighing the marijuana), marijuana smoking pipes and bongs, rolling papers, hemostats, marijuana cigarettes, rollers, grinders, and other assorted drug paraphernalia. The search also revealed a .22 caliber derringer handgun hidden inside the attic of the residence. The investigation revealed all five individuals living at the residence were using marijuana on a regular basis. One individual even admitted to using marijuana since the age of 10 in an interview with Sheriff detectives. All the individuals arrested were transported to McCracken County Regional Jail where they were lodged.
