Injury Accidents On Olivet Church Road
At approximately 06:56 HRS. this date the sheriff's department received a call for service of an injury accident in the 2100 block of Olivet Church Road. Deputies arrived to find a single vehicle overturned against a tree off the roadway. Unit 1 driven by Shadrach H. Boaz , 21 of Paducah was traveling north on Olivet Church road, when for an unknown reason lost control . Mr. Boaz ran off the roadway overturning and coming to rest on a tree. Mr. Boaz had to be extricated by Concord Fire Department and was transported to Lourdes Hospital for his injuries. Unit 1 is 1996 Toyota 4 Runner, black in color. This accident is still under investigation.
At 07:04 HRS another accident with injuries occurred at the above scene. Unit 2 was driving a 1994 Ford Ranger, green in color. Unit 2, driven by Mr. Harold Hook , 62 of Paducah had stopped in the roadway because of the above accident. Unit 2 was just beyond a hillcrest attempting to get his vehicle out of the roadway when he was struck by Unit 1. Unit 1 was a 2002 Toyota Tundra, gray in color. Unit 1 driven by Mr. John B. Lovelace, 59 of Paducah; was traveling Southbound responding to the accident in the capacity of a member of the Concord Fire Department. Unit 1 did not realize the congestion was blocking the roadway due to the other collision. Unit 1 was traveling at speed when he topped the hill crest and attempted to stop but was unable to so in the distance available; which caused him to strike Unit 2 in the rear end. Unit 1 was transported to Western Baptist Hospital and Unit 2 was transported to Lourdes Hospital.
