Stolen vehicle from Louisville Recovered

On Thursday afternoon at about 2:30PM, McCracken Sheriff's Deputies located at 2007 model Chevrolet Uplander Van pulled off the side of the Schneidman Road near I-24 and the railroad yards abandoned.

Sheriff's detectives discovered that the van was stolen from the 4800 block of Preston Hwy in Louisville Kentucky from Professional Transportation Company. The vehicle had not yet been entered in the computer as stolen by Louisville Police as they had just taken the theft report earlier this date.

The vehicle valued at about $20,000 dollars.

McCracken Sheriff's detectives tracked the suspect to an area mission where he was interviewed and then taken to the sheriff's department for additional questioning. During the interview by Det. Tom Emery, the suspect confessed to stealing the van from the Louisville Kentucky business and driving it to the Paducah area.

The suspect was identified as being Gary M. Carroll Jr. from the Louisville area. He is 34 years of age.

He was charged with Knowingly Receiving Stolen Property Over $300 dollars and was lodged at the McCracken County Regional Jail.
