On October 2, 2008 at 5:04 P.M. deputies were dispatched to the intersection of Cairo Rd and Mayfield Metropolis Rd in reference to an ATV collision. Upon arrival, it was found that Otis R. Chilcoat, 41, of West Paducah was driving his ATV North on Mayfield Metropolis Rd when he lost control and ran off the road. Chilcoat ran off of the Western most part of the road striking a road sign and a tree. Chilcoat was unresponsive at the scene where he was treated by members of Mercy Regional Medical, Concord Fire Dept., West McCracken Fire Dept.. Chilcoat was taken to Western Baptist Hospital where he was pronounced dead.
