A 15 year old Lone Oak High School student was taken into custody today after an investigation into two separate incidents involving the same victim.

On Nov.12th, a 15 year old student was assaulted / choked by another 15 year old student. The victim received minor injuries from this assault and did not require medical attention. On Nov. 13th, the same student / victim was once again assaulted / choked by the same perpetrator. The victim fought back and the perpetrator then retrieved a pocket knife from his coat and placed the blade at the victim's throat. The victim was able to talk the perpetrator into releasing him without suffering any injury from the knife.

Victim / student reported these assaults to school personnel and a joint investigation was conducted by Lone Oak School Resource Officer Steve Perry and Sheriff's Detective R.J. Caskey. After a series of interviews the 15 year old perpetrator was taken into custody by Det. Caskey.

After consultation with the McCracken County Attorney's Office the perpetrator was charged with 2 counts of assault 4th degree (class A misdemeanors) and 1 count of wanton endangerment 1st degree. (class D felony) The Court Designated Worker has been contacted and the perpetrator will be held in juvenile detention until a scheduled court appearance.
