Single Vehicle Injury Accident, driver charged with DUI

At approx 2320 Hrs, the McCracken County Sheriff's Dept., Hendron Fire Dept. and Mercy Regional Ambulance were dispatched to Wise Church Road near the Graves County line for a vehicle that had collided with a tree.

Tabitha Nelms, 28, of Mayfield, was driving a Red 1992 Pontiac Firebird Southbound on Wise Church Road, failed to negotiate a left curve, ran off the right shoulder, and collided head on with a tree.

Ms. Nelms was transported to Baptist ER for treatment.
Ms. Nelms was cited at the hospital for 1. Operating a Motor Vehicle Under the Influence of Alcohol 1st Offense (Aggravating Circumstances) and 2. Open Alcoholic Beverage in a Motor Vehicle.
