 Injury Accident on McKendree Church Road

The McCracken County Sheriff's Dept. received a 911 call at 9:42 pm of single vehicle accident in the 2100 block of McKendree Church road.  Upon arrival the sheriffs' deputies  found a single vehicle that had been severely damage as a result of the crash. A 44 year old Paducah man was pronounced dead at the scene by emergency medical services due to severe blunt trauma injuries. His identity is not being released at this time pending notification of all family members. Deputy sheriff Ray Smith was able to determine that the vehicle was traveling eastbound on McKendree Church road at a high rate of speed, the vehicle topped a small hill and apparently the driver lost control.  The vehicle left approximately 129' feet of skid marks before leaving the roadway again and hitting a tree.  The driver was ejected  from the vehicle and died at the scene due to his injuries.  The sheriff's dept. was assisted by the West McCracken Fire and Rescue Dept. Mercy Regional EMS, and the McCracken County's Coroner office assisted with the investigation.  The roadway  was closed for 2hrs. As emergency personnel worked to clear the scene.
