Early Morning wreck leads to one taken to area hospital

A two vehicle accident on this mornings icy roads led to a Carlisle County woman being taken to Lourdes Hospital with a possible neck injury.

At about 7:40AM, numerous accidents were being reported on a section of US 62 (Blandville Road). Specifically on a section just inside McCracken County from Lovelaceville in the 12000 block. A 2004 Chevrolet Tahoe driven by 47 year old Gregory Wright of Paducah was westbound when he lost control on the ice spinning around and running partially off the road. Shortly afterwards, a 2006 Ford Fusion driven by 56 year old Leslie A. Bundy of Arlington, Ky also westbound could not avoid a collision with the Tahoe (which was partially out in the roadway) also due to the ice, and struck the front of the Tahoe. A passenger in the Ford Fusion 55 year old Barbara Bundy (also from Arlington, Ky) was injured in the collision complaining of neck pain.

Personnel from the Concord Fire Department responded and provided aid to Mrs. Bundy. Mercy Regional Ambulance Service was dispatched to the scene but was unable to make it to the wreck location due to the hazardous road conditions. The injured woman was transported by Concord Fire personnel to a location closer to Paducah and met with an ambulance, and then was taken to Lourdes Hospital.

This accident was investigated by Sheriff Jon Hayden.
