Three Paducah Men Arrested In Separate Investigations
The McCracken County Sheriff Department Drug Division received information several weeks ago alleging Charles M. Sanders was inquiring to purchase a pound of Marijuana. To further investigate the allegations and following tape recorded phone calls an undercover operation was set up to deliver the requested amount of Marijuana to Sanders at a location near John L. Puryear Drive at a price of $750.00.
On 02/05/09 at approximately 16:47 Sanders arrived at 2960 Husband Road to receive the pound of Marijuana. After currency exchanged hands for the product detectives approached and effected the arrest. As part of the investigation detectives had determined that a third party was involved with the transaction and was the one responsible for providing the money used to purchase the Marijuana. The individual was identified as being Mark A. Bearden, AKA Block Head, in whom resided on Bradley Street in Paducah. Detectives proceed to the area in question to conduct surveillance on Bearden's residence. A short time later detectives observed Bearden leave his residence and proceed outbound on Schneidman Road. Bearden was stopped and transported to the McCracken County Sheriff Department where he was questioned by detectives.
Bearden admitted that he had in fact provided Sanders with $800.00 in return for the pound of Marijuana. Sanders also admitted to all charges.
In a separate investigation detectives received information that alleged a Kevil man to be trafficking in Methamphetamine. Detectives were familiar with the individual, Larry L. Foglesong, as he had been arrested by sheriff's detectives in December of 2005 on Methamphetamine Manufacturing related charges, and was currently on Felony probation for those offenses. The Kentucky Department Of Probation And Parole was notified and informed of the situation. Probation officers responded to Foglesong's residence and requested sheriff detectives assistance. On 02/05/09 at approximately 23:01 a search of the residence and property revealed Crystal Methamphetamine, Meth residue paraphernalia, Meth residue digital scales, Xanax pills, two loaded semi automatic handguns, and other related items. The majority of all items recovered were found inside a hidden compartment inside a large stack on tool box. The items were located by Sheriff's Department K-9 "Derec". Detectives with the Marshall County Sheriff's Department also assisted with the search.
Foglesong was arrested and transported to the McCracken County Regional Jail without incident.
