At approx. 1513 hrs this date a vehicle accident occurred at the intersection of Lovelaceville Rd. and Pepper Lane. The driver of a 2005 Nissan Altima, 57 year old Edward Burnett of Paducah was stopped in traffic waiting to make a left turn onto Pepper Lane. The driver of a 1999 Toyota 4-Runner, 19 year old Kelley Halicks of Paducah was also northbound on Lovelaceville Road. Miss Halicks was distracted and did not see Mr. Burnett stopped in the roadway. Miss Halicks rear ended Mr. Burnett's vehicle. Mercy Regional and Lone Oak Fire Department assisted at the scene. Mr. Burnett was transported by Mercy EMS to Western Baptist Hospital and treated for his injuries. The accident was investigated by Deputy Kevin Carter.
