On 03/20/09 the McCracken County Sheriff's Department Detective Division received a phone call from Social Services to go with one of their investigators to a residence on Longview Drive in the Lone Oak community. The call was in reference to child abuse of a 2 year old male. Investigator Susan Carneal with Social Services and this Detective went to the residence. We spoke with the suspect and the suspect did admit to slapping the child on two different occasions. The suspect was asked to leave the residence over the weekend. On Monday two warrants were obtained for Assault 4th Degree (child abuse). The suspect came to the Sheriff's Department, he was arrested and taken to the McCracken Regional Jail. Total bond is $1000.00 cash.

Suspect: John D. Carter, W/M, 28 years old.
