Vehicle Theft in Farley leads to Charges in Marshall County.
A Farley man returned home to find his 1999 Dodge conversion van had been stolen from his garage. According to the victim, the suspect had been staying at the residence to assist him with repair work to the residence. The suspect, William J. Turnbull had been asked to leave the residence on Thursday, but was thought to have to have returned sometime this morning. A witness spotted Mr. Turnbull at the residence at approximately 11:30 A.M.
While investigating the theft the McCracken County Sheriff's Department received a call from the Marshall County Sheriff's Office. Contact had been made with Mr. Turnbull at the Love's Travel Center and he was arrested on an outstanding Bench Warrant from McCracken County as well as other offenses committed in Marshall County.
The Marshall County Sheriff's Office had received a call to the travel center after Mr. Turnbull had been picked up on Interstate 24. Apparently the vehicle he was traveling in had broken down and he called for assistance. Information was relayed to the Marshall County Sheriff's Office of the theft in McCracken County. The vehicle that Mr. Turnbull was traveling in was the 1999 Dodge van that had been reported as stolen in McCracken County.
Mr. Turnbull was charged in Marshall County with Knowingly Receiving Stolen Property and remained lodged in the Marshall County Detention Center. The vehicle was recovered and was released back to its owner in McCracken County.
