Paducah Man arrested after vehicle chase.
At approximately 02:30 am Deputy Michael Wray of the McCracken County Sheriff's Department was on patrol in the western part of the county when he encountered an older model Buick Riviera. Deputy Wray attempted to stop the vehicle because it failed to yield the right -of-way by crossing the center line Deputy Wray said when he activated his emergency equipment the driver sped up and attempted to get away. The driver later identified as Mark Collier 52 of West Paducah led Deputy Wray down several county roads before coming to the intersection of Cairo Road and US 60. at the intersection Mr. Collier collided with a sheriff's cruiser that had pulled up to block the intersection. The collision caused very minor damage to the cruiser. Mr. Collier then headed westbound on US 60 where speeds reach at or above 100 mph., Collier then turned northbound on Magruder toward Woodville when Collier reached Woodville he turned westbound. Deputies said as Collier approached the intersection of Woodville and Hobbs he attempted to turn down a gravel access road that leads toward USEC, due to recent road work there was a significant amount of loose gravel allowing officers to maneuver Colliers vehicle off the roadway into a ditch. Collier was arrested without further incident. He was lodged in the McCracken County Jail on 6 charges.
