Chicago Man Arrested On Cocaine Trafficking Charges
The McCracken County Sheriff Department began an investigation on an individual that was identified as being Michael A. Glasper of Chicago Il. Detectives received information that alleged Glasper to be selling Crack Cocaine in the Paducah area. An undercover operation was arranged that involved undercover officers making contact with Glasper and successfully made arrangements to purchase a quantity of Cocaine from Glasper. On 4/29/09 at approximately 20:21 p.m. Glasper informed the undercover agents that he was at Ebony LTD, located on the corner of South 8th Street Oscar Cross, and instructed them to drive by and pick him up. Once the agents picked Glasper up he instructed them to drive out the area while subsequently producing a quantity of Cocaine and sold a quantity of the Cocaine to the undercover agent. Following the transaction detectives moved in and surrounded the vehicle at the intersection of Husbands Street and South 4th. Upon approaching Glasper detectives observed him attempting to swallow a quantity of Cocaine after he attempted to discard the buy money that was used to purchase the Cocaine. After a brief struggle detective were successful in recovering the Cocaine which was located in a cellophane wrapper in Glasper mouth. A search of Glasper's person revealed over $800.00 in US Currency, six (6) individuals wrapped baggies of Crack Cocaine, small quantity of Marijuana, and two cell phones. Glasper was arrested and transported to the McCracken County Sheriff's Department where he was interviewed and later transported to the McCracken County Regional Jail.
A criminal history on Glasper revealed him to have prior charges for disarming a police officer, Marijuana cultivation, armed robbery, possession of a weapon by a convicted felon, assault, possession of a controlled substance, along with other charges.
