Re: Four Arrested In Early Morning Drug Raids

From: Det. Jesse Riddle

On 05-07-2009 at approximately 5:48 am Sheriff's Detectives assisted by the McCracken County Sheriff's Department's Special Service Team executed two search warrants at two different Paducah residences and arrested four individuals on various drug and gun charges. The search warrants were executed simultaneously at 5:48 am. Detectives arrested Harry and Jacquiline Mason at 1730 North 11th Street in Paducah after an execution of a search warrant at their residence. A search of their residence (1730 North 11th Street Paducah, Ky 42001) revealed marijuana packaged for sell, digital scales, US currency and assorted drug paraphernalia. Most of the illegal items (marijuana and drug paraphernalia) in the residence were found to be in areas of the home that were easily accessible to a two year old child who was also residing at the residence. A check of Mr. Mason's criminal history revealed that he had prior convictions for marijuana trafficking and marijuana possession.

In a separate investigation detectives arrested Abigail Bridges and Kenneth Williams at 1467 North 10th Street in Paducah. During the search of the interior of the residence (1467 North 10th Street) detectives located marijuana, plastic baggies and a loaded .40 caliber semi automatic Glock handgun. Outside the residence detectives located two large set of digital scales the were covered with marijuana residue and plastic baggies that contained marijuana, some of these items were concealed inside a dog house on the property. Detectives ran the handgun that was located in the residence through the National Crime Information Center to check and see if the handgun might be stolen. Detectives received a hit confirmation and were informed that the handgun was listed as stolen out of Ballard County Ky from a Ballard County Sheriff's Deputy in 2007. During an interview Abigail Bridges admitted that the gun was given to her by another individual and that she was holding it for him. Kenneth Williams admitted in an interview with Sheriff's Detectives that he had recently handled the gun (.40 caliber Glock)and knew it was present in the residence. Most of the illegal items (marijuana and drug paraphernalia) found inside and out of residence were in areas that were easily accessible to two small children who also reside at the 1467 North 10th Street. A check of Williams criminal history revealed that he had prior felony convictions for possession of cocaine, receiving stolen property and possessing a handgun by a convicted felon. The investigation is continuing.

The wanton endangerment charges in these cases stem from the illegal items that were found to be in areas accessible to the children at the residence.
