Single vehicle collision with injuries:

At approximately 1926 hours this date a pickup truck driven by 40 year old Joseph Lear of LaCenter, Kentucky was South bound on Pugh Road. The driver admitted to consuming alcoholic beverages before driving his vehicle and that he was driving 15 miles per hour over the posted speed limit. The driver lost control of his vehicle, skidded from one side of the roadway to the opposite side of the roadway several times, before the vehicle flipped over onto it's passenger side in the front yard of 405 Pugh Road. The vehicle caught fire with the driver and his 50 year old passenger William Hendon of Paducah still inside. The home owner of 405 Pugh Road , David Creason used his personal fire extinguisher to extinguish the vehicle fire, which allowed the driver and passenger to climb out of the vehicle. The driver of the vehicle sustained minor cuts to his head and arm. Both the driver and passenger were treated for their injuries at the scene by Mercy EMS and members of the Reidland-Farley Fire Department and refused further medical treatment. The driver of the vehicle was arrested for Operating a Motor Vehicle Under the Influence.
