Single vehicle collision with injuries:
At approximately 1642 hours this date a passenger car driven by 24 year old Joshua Watson of LaCenter, Kentucky was West bound near the 12000 block of Blandville Road. The driver was texting on his cell phone and had been drinking alcoholic beverages. The driver drove off the roadway in a curve, became airborne over a creek, and struck several trees. The driver fled the collision scene on foot, but was located and returned to the scene by Deputy Billy Viniard of the Carlisle County Sheriff's Department. The passenger in this vehicle was a 17 year old male who was also intoxicated and received minor injuries. The passenger were treated for his injuries at the scene by Mercy EMS. Ballard EMS transported the driver to Western Baptist Hospital where he was admitted for treatment of his injuries. Members of the Concord Fire Department and the Ballard County Sheriff's Department also assisted at the scene. The driver of the vehicle was cited for Operating a Motor Vehicle Under the Influence, Leaving the Scene of a Collision, and Unlawful Transaction with a Minor Third Degree.
