On 06/04/09 at approx. 1402 hrs, the McCracken County Sheriff's Dept was dispatched to the area of Clinton Rd and Jilson Rd for an injury accident. Upon arrival, it was found that 16 year old Chance Tucker of Boaz, was driving a 1995 Mitsubishi passenger car South on Clinton Rd. Tucker was manipulating a curved part of the roadway where a bridge was present, when he over corrected after crossing the bridge. After Tucker over corrected he crossed over into the oncoming lane of traffic. Truman Hays,72, of Melber was driving a 2008 Buick passenger car North Bound on Clinton Rd when Tucker came across his lane of traffic. Hays was accompanied by 71 year old Judith Hays. Tucker struck the front of Hays' vehicle then continued off the roadway into the ditch. Tucker was transported by Mercy Regional Medical to Lourdes Hospital for apparent minor injuries. Judith and Truman Hays were not injured. Deputies were assisted at the scene by the Lone Oak Fire Dept, the Melber Fire Dept, and Mercy Regional Medical.
