At approx. 2200hrs this evening Aaron Walker, 18 yoa, of Kevil, was operating a white 1999 Ford Explorer Westbound on Cairo Road near US 60. Mr. Walkers vehicle ran off the right shoulder and collided with the guy wires of a utility pole causing the vehicle to become air borne and overturned. Mr. Walker was transported by Mercy Regional Ambulance to Lourdes ER for treatment of possible injuries. Members of West McCracken Fire Dept. provided care and extracted Mr. Walker from his vehicle. Mr. Walker believes he ran off the roadway due to falling asleep. The collision caused a brief power outage in the local area and the roadway was blocked for approx an hour.
