On 06/26/2009 at approximately 6:33 pm the McCracken County Sheriff's Department Drug Division arrested two Paducah Men on drug related offenses. The arrests were a result of a joint investigation conducted by the McCracken and Marshall County Sheriff's Detectives.
On 06/26/2009 at approximately 5:30 pm detectives with the drug division conducted an undercover operation that led detectives to Wal-Mart located at 5130 Hinkleville Road in Paducah. The investigation revealed that Antwon C. Mitchell 23, of Elmdale Road had just met another man in the restroom of Wal-Mart and sold him a quantity of marijuana (occurred within 1000 yards of Concord Elementary School). Mitchell's 1995 Lexus passenger car was stopped by Deputies Tom Crabtree and Tim Reed at the intersection of Elmdale and McAuley Streets. Detectives placed Mitchell under arrest and conducted a search of his apartment located at 1148 Elmdale Road Apt C (within 1000 yards of St. Mary Schools). Upon arriving at the apartment detectives located Tayde C. Newman jr. 22, of Paducah sitting in the living room of the residence. Detectives also noted a strong odor of burnt marijuana. A search of Newman's person revealed a plastic baggy containing marijuana. Detectives then conducted a search of Mitchell's bedroom and located an additional two ounces of marijuana packaged for sell, a set of digital scales disguised as a cd case, and plastic baggies. Detectives arrested both men and transported them to the McCracken County Jail.
Antwon C. Mitchell has a prior convictions for trafficking in marijuana 8 oz to 5lbs and Possession of Drug Paraphernalia out of McCracken County Ky in 2007, enhancing both those charges making them 2nd offenses.
