Pugh Road Accident Sends Paducah Man To Hospital

At 19:47 ( 7:47 PM) the Sheriff's Department received a report of a single vehicle injury accident on Pugh Road. Upon arrival, the loan occupant was being tended to by Reidland / Farley Fire Fighters and Mercy Regional EMS personnel. Based on the scene and the operator's statements it appeared that speed and alcohol were contributing factors in this accident. The scene revealed that a 1995 Geo Prizm was South bound at a high rate of speed and that it dropped off the left side of the roadway where it struck a driveway culvert. A witness stated that he heard tires squalling and then saw the vehicle become airborne after it struck the ditch. The driver, 22 year old Andrew Wilson, of Paducah was taken to Western Baptist Hospital for treatment of multiple injuries. He was cited for operating on a license suspended for DUI and for Driving Under the Influence 2nd Offense.
