Motor Vehicle Accident
At 1248 20 year old Keith Sullivan was south bound on John Puryear driving a 2003 nissan altima. 75 year old Harvey Elder was his passenger. Both are from Mayfield. 83 year old Harold Williams of Paducah was south bound on puryear driving a 2008 chevrolet silverado making a left hand turn onto I-24 when he turned int the path of Sullivan causing the collision. Elder was transported to Lourdes hospital for treatment with multiple injuries by mercy regional.David Knight

Update on Injury Accident from Wednesday July 22(
John Puryear and I-24)
75 year old Harvey Elder of Mayfield (who was a passenger in a car driven by Keith Sullivan of Mayfield) died at 8:27AM this morning at Deaconess Hospital in Evansville Indiana.
He was transported from Lourdes Hospital in Paducah to Deaconess Hospital following the accident on Wednesday. According to the Vanderbergh County Indiana Coroner's Office, he died at 8:27AM this morning from internal and head injuries.
Mr. Elder was a passenger in a vehicle that was 2003 Nissan Altima that was southbound on John Puryear Hwy. The other vehicle (2008 Chevrolet Pickup) involved in this collision was driven by 83 year old Harold Williams of Paducah. Mr. Williams was northbound on John Puryear Hwy and made a left turn onto the I-24 on ramp in in front of Sullivan and Elder, thus causing the collision.
The accident was investigated by Deputy David Knight.
