TWO VEHICLE COLLISION SENDS LIVINGSTON COUNTY MAN TO JAIL FOR DUI

At 22:06 hours, the McCracken County Sheriff's Dept., responded to a possible injury collision in the 1600 block of Luigs Road. From deputies investigation a 1997 GMC Yukon, operated by Randy W. Cooper of Smithland, KY, was west on Luigs when he ran off the road striking a utility pole. The SUV tore the pole into three pieces and knocked out the power for several hours. After striking the pole the SUV hit a parked passenger car in the driveway of 1655 Luigs Road. Mr. Cooper was examined by Mercy Regional Ambulance where he refused their medical treatment. Mr. Cooper appeared to be under the influence and had admitted to have been drinking. Mr. Cooper was placed under arrest for DUI and an Open Alcohol Container in a Motor Vehicle. Cooper was transported to the McCracken County Jail where he was lodged. The collision was investigated by Deputy Cory Golightly. Assisting on scene, Lone Oak Fire Dept, Jason Collision Center, and Jackson Purchase Energy.
