Lone Oak Duplex Search Leads To Drug Trafficking Charges

The McCracken County Sheriff Department received information several weeks ago alleging illegal drug activity to be occurring at an address known as 220 Bell Lane Apartment B. A combination of several different covert type tactics led detectives to obtaining a search warrant for the residence in question.

The warrant was executed on 09/09/2009 at approximately 22:18. Upon entering the residence detectives noted a strong smell of burnt Marijuana and discovered that an individual in whom was identified as Michael Raney fled out the back door as detectives were entering through the front. Raney was not aware that a deputy had been placed at the rear of the residence and subsequently gave chase. Raney was ordered to stop and after a several hundred yard chase he was subdued and arrested.

A search of the residence revealed a small infant child that had been left unattended in a bath tub. A search of the home revealed several individual wrapped bags of Marijuana (packaged for sale), digital scales, new plastic bags (used for packaging for sale), Ecstasy pill (Hallucinogen "Date Rape" pill), several items of drug paraphernalia, several hundred dollars in US Currency, and other related items.

Also inside the residence detectives located Artis Ingram and Jasmine Foster. Ingram was wanted out of McCracken County on outstanding warrants for Trafficking In Marijuana Under 8 Ounces, Possession Of Drug Paraphernalia, Fleeing Or Evading Police 2nd Degree, and Operating On A Suspended License. All three adults were arrested and transported to the McCracken County Sheriff Department and the infant was released to family. The investigation showed that all three had been selling Marijuana out of the residence. The adults were later lodged in the McCracken County Regional Jail without incident.
