The McCracken County Sheriff's Office responded to a motor vehicle accident with injuries located on John L Puryear Drive at approximately 1220 hours on 09-20-09. Three motor vehicles were involved. Jackie Blasingim (59 YOA from Paducah) was operating a 2002 Chevy van when he attempted to cross 4 lanes of traffic on John l. Puryear Drive from Husbands Road. He was trying to get across to the Exit 11 Exxon gas station. He failed to yield the right of way and struck a 2000 Dodge van that was eastbound on John L. Puryear Drive and driven by James Allred (32 YOA from Boaz). The two vehicles then spun out of control and crossed into the westbound lanes where they each struck a 2007 Toyota Camry driven by John Barnes (75 YOA from Lee's Summit, MO). The TVA Police helped assist at the scene with traffic control. The westbound lanes of John L. Puryear Drive were blocked for approximately 30 minutes. All three (3) vehicles were towed by Jason's Collision Center. The Reidland-Farley Fire Department also assisted at the scene. Mercy EMS transported seven (7) individuals to area hospitals. Mr. Blasingim was transported by Mercy EMS to Lourdes Hospital. Mr. Barnes and his passenger Rebecca Barnes (68 YOA from Lee's Summit, MO) were both transported by Mercy EMS to Lourdes Hospital. Mr. Allred and all three of his passengers were transported to Western Baptist Hospital. His passengers were Summer Allred (23 YOA), Abigal Allred (1 YOA), and Marley Allred (2 Months Old), all from Boaz. Several witnesses stopped to help render aid and to provide statements to first responders when they arrived on scene.
